Convert bitmap to something else

Nice one liner (you can also do it in one line if you like) to convert bitmaps i.e. to PNGs:

for i in *.bmp; do convert "$i" "${i%.bmp}.png" ; done
rm *.bmp

You only need convert installed on your system.

The same procedure as every year

The daylight is a rare guest during the current season and this normally indicates that christmas is on the way. And before this arrival a lot of people ask me about my whishes and what they can donate. Normally I say: "Don't know!" and normally that is not the answer they want to hear. Fast, efficient and easy

After playing with several different blog platforms over the last two and half years I thought it might be a good idea to check out a blog service. Main reason is more or less that an own blog is nice and flexible, but to keep everything up to date and maintained you need some more time than I have. So, this is my new one and we will see if it was a smart choice or not. However, enjoy the stay on this blog!
